Logan Delaney ~ newborn session on his 8th day

     20 January 2018 at 2.14am

Now and again it just so happens that my two passions collide – wedding and newborn photography. At a recent wedding I photographed, I met Summa and Dylan (Dylan was in the bridal party). A year later, Summa gave birth to beautiful baby Logan. This presented me with the wonderful opportunity of capturing him in our studio on his 10th day.

The session

Logan calmly snoozed his way through the whole session which gave Summa, Dylan and proud big brother, Colby, ample time for cuddles producing some beautiful shots. Logan gave us an abundance of gorgeous ‘sleep smiles’, leading me to wonder if his namesake was whispering funnies in his ear (Logan’s middle name is Stephen John, named after his Pop who passed away before he was born. Pop was blessed with four granddaughters and Logan was to be his first grandson).

Newborn photographer – why so young?

As mentioned above, Logan was 10 days old during his baby photography session. Most of the babies I photograph are between 7 – 14 days of age. While this sounds young, that newborn window is so very small! This is when I capture those newborn moments and poses at their best. It is also when they are at their most flexible and most sleepy. It is best to book in while you are still expecting. Before you know it, they’re wide-eyed and ready to explore the world. That’s why it is recommended capturing your precious newborn within the first two weeks of their life.

Newborn Photography Sessions last up to 4 hours. Pre-booking ensures your newborn photography session. This adds your due date in our calendar. Pre-booking also allows us to prepare for your newborn session. It is important to contact us within the first 48 hours when bub arrives . This is to finalise your session date. Sessions start between 9-11am weekdays.

Older siblings are photographed with bub in the first 15mins of the session. A family member or loved one will pick up siblings after this time. This helps you get the best possible images. Capturing bubs precious moments requires a lot of time and patience.
